Thoughts from the Treadmill...

Every once in a while I like to look over my iTunes 500 most played list and see what's in there.  I think it's interesting to see what trends I go through with music like what albums I was obsessed with 6 months ago but haven't listened to since then.  I also kind of get a glimpse into how much I repeat things.  (I can do this with tv shows like Seinfeld, movies like You've Got Mail and Notting Hill, and my favorite Stephen King books like The Long Walk.)  What's interesting is the playlist only counts the songs if you listen to them all the way through to the end.  I know I've listened to these songs way more than what's tracked.

Here is my top 10 Most Played Songs with play counts off my 500th most played iTunes playlist.

1. The Kill by 30 Seconds to Mars: 162 plays.  This is my most favorite song ever. EVER.
2. Misery Business by Paramore: 136 plays.
3. Wash Away (reprise) by Joe Purdy: 125 plays.
4. Attack by 30 Seconds to Mars: 105 plays.
5. Wash Away by Joe Purdy: 100 plays.  (This is just the original version of #3, put the two together and I've played this song 225 times.  Obsessed much???)
6. Keep Me In Your Pocket by Charlotte Martin: 98 plays.
7. Programmable Soda by Tori Amos: 94 plays.
8. How I Feel by Kelly Clarkson: 90 plays.
9. Emergency by Paramore: 84 plays.
10. A Modern Myth by 30 Seconds to Mars: 79 plays.

It's pretty obvious what my favorite bands and singers are from this list.  I can listen to any of those artists at any time.  Joe Purdy is not someone I listen to, I actually only own the two Wash Away songs.

Have you ever checked your top played list?  If so, I'd be interested to see what's on it.
